This Cat Looks Like a Miniature Puma: Here’s Why It’s So Special

If it weren’t for his typical tabby fur, this sweet cat could easily be mistaken for a puma cub. He has wide paws, is quite tall, and most notably, has an unusual face that resembles a wild feline.

This stray tabby possesses an unusual, almost exotic beauty. For years, he lived in an abandoned farm, cared for by a kind person who occasionally brought him food and checked up on him. He had learned to fend for himself outdoors and to keep humans at a safe distance. But behind his wary facade lay a sweet and gentle soul.

When he arrived at Tabby’s Place in Ringoes, New Jersey, Lawrence was already 12 years old and had a long history, with his body marked by battles with other animals and the elements. His wild demeanor made him even more resemble a mini-puma. However, “since his arrival, this noble old tabby couldn’t hide his sweet spirit under layers of concern,” Angela Townsend recounts.

Lawrence was shy but sweet as he began to acclimate to his new surroundings. With encouragement and time, he found the courage to seek affection. “He even allowed us to gently groom him and trim his nails, although he held tightly onto a comforting toy while we did.” Today, he is a purring engine with a brave heart and “has learned what it means to be unconditionally adored.”

Majestic on the outside and tender on the inside, Lawrence needed a place where he could feel safe with someone who could bring him out of his shell. After months at the shelter, the tabby captured the hearts of a dream family: Mark and Susan, who had met him shortly after his arrival when they were adopting their other cat Yuki but never stopped thinking about him as well.”
