On Tuesday, April 2, 2024, Forbes released its list of new billionaires for 2024. The renowned magazine notes that there are currently over 2,700 billionaires worldwide, collectively possessing a fortune valued at $14.2 trillion.
In 2024, 256 individuals joined this list, 106 more than the 150 from the previous year.
Notably, two names stand out among those mentioned by Forbes: Taylor Swift and Magic Johnson.
The pop star achieved this milestone following her successful ‘Eras Tour,’ which toured worldwide and grossed over a billion dollars in revenue.
According to Forbes, Swift has become the first singer to become a billionaire solely based on her songs and performances.
On the other hand, there is the former Los Angeles Lakers player and NBA Hall of Famer.
Interestingly, Johnson attained billionaire status through off-court business ventures.
His investments in professional sports teams, cinemas, Starbucks franchises, as well as his work as an NBA commentator in the United States, propelled him to the billionaires list.
