Taylor Swift overshadows Travis Kelce in the Webby Awards. What award did the singer take home?

Travis and Jason Kelce won two Webbys for their podcast ‘New Heights’.

Since announcing their romance in September 2023, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have proven to be a power couple. However, that doesn’t mean there isn’t competition between them. This time, it was the singer who outshone the NFL star to win one of the most prestigious Internet awards.

The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) created the Webby Awards in 1996. Since then, these awards have annually recognized the best in digital entertainment and content creation.

Each category awards two prizes. The first is the Webby Award, decided by the votes of the 3,000 members of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS). The second is the Webby People’s Choice Award, where the public can vote for their favorite among the nominees.

This year, Swift and Kelce were competing in the category of Best Social Media Collaboration by a Creator or Influencer, and the singer defeated her boyfriend in both polls.

Taylor Swift won the Webby Award for her category this year, which recognizes the “best, most innovative, and most effective or creative examples of social media leveraging creator or influencer mentions for marketing or promotional purposes,” according to the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) on their official site.

The singer earned the award through her collaboration with Vote.org. In a social media post, Swift acknowledged the work of this website, which aims to raise awareness and increase voter participation rates in the U.S., whether in state or federal elections.

On the other hand, Kelce was nominated for his involvement in the Fashion Icons campaign by The Cheesecake Factory restaurant chain. The company drew inspiration from one of the most striking outfits of the Kansas City Chiefs tight end to create a carryout bag.

The IADAS did not disclose the votes but announced Swift as the winner of the category over Kelce.

Other Webby Winners

However, Travis didn’t leave empty-handed. The NFL star took home two awards for the podcast ‘New Heights,’ which he hosts alongside his brother Jason Kelce. Travis and Jason won the People’s Voice Award in the categories of Best Podcast Co-hosts and Best Podcast Video Series. They were also nominated in the Sports Podcasts category.

NFL commentator and former player Shannon Sharpe received the special Advocate of the Year award. Michelle Obama won multiple awards for The Light Podcast: the Webby Awards for Best Advice and How-To, and Best Series, as well as the People’s Voice Award for Health, Wellness, and Lifestyle, Best Series, and Advice and How-To.
