WASHINGTON — A traditional gathering in the nation’s capital took on a more personal tone as Usha Vance was publicly acknowledged during a major social event attended by political families.
The moment took place at the 113th Congressional Club luncheon, held at the Washington Hilton, where spouses of current and former public officials gathered as part of an established Washington tradition. During the program, Vance, 40, was recognized in front of attendees and presented with a baby gift, marking one of her most visible appearances since announcing her pregnancy earlier this year.

Public Recognition During a Private Milestone
Vance appeared at the event wearing a floral dress and stood alongside Melania Trump during portions of the program. Near the conclusion of the luncheon, she was invited to stand and was given a baby blanket.
The presentation was made by Leah Dunn, identified as president of the Congressional Club and the spouse of Florida Republican Representative Neal Dunn.
The appearance underscored Vance’s pregnancy with her fourth child, a baby boy expected in late July with JD Vance. The couple are already parents to three children: Ewan, Vivek, and Mirabel. The pregnancy was first publicly shared in January.
Event Balances Personal and Policy Focus
In addition to the personal milestone, the luncheon also served as a platform for public initiatives. Melania Trump used the occasion to continue highlighting her focus on foster care reform, an issue she has emphasized in recent weeks.
Her initiative, “Fostering the Future,” is aimed at expanding access to education, scholarships, and employment opportunities for young people transitioning out of the foster care system. The effort has become a central part of her current public agenda.
Trump has also made recent appearances on Capitol Hill in connection with related legislation, reinforcing the policy priorities referenced during the luncheon.
The event ultimately combined ceremonial tradition with both personal and policy-driven moments, placing attention on Vance’s growing family while also underscoring ongoing advocacy efforts tied to foster care reform.
