Trump Cancels Pakistan Trip for Iran Talks, Citing ‘Time Wasted’

Donald Trump has cancelled a planned diplomatic trip involving U.S. representatives to Islamabad, halting preparations for further discussions related to the ongoing Iran conflict.

According to BBC, Trump confirmed that envoy Steve Witkoff and adviser Jared Kushner would no longer travel to Pakistan’s capital for the scheduled talks. The delegation had been expected to participate in a second round of negotiations.

Speaking to Fox News, Trump explained the decision by saying, “We have all the cards. They can call us anytime they want, but you’re not going to be making any more 18-hour flights to sit around talking about nothing.”

He later reiterated his stance on Truth Social, stating that he had cancelled the trip due to excessive travel time and what he described as internal disorganization among Iranian leadership. “Too much time wasted on travelling, too much work!” Trump wrote, adding, “If they want to talk, all they have to do is call!!!”

The cancellation comes as Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had recently visited Islamabad, where he met with Pakistani officials and conveyed Tehran’s conditions for ending the conflict.

Regional Developments Continue

At the same time, tensions in the region remain high. According to Al Jazeera, Israeli airstrikes have continued in southern Lebanon, including reported attacks on the town of Kunin in the Bint Jbeil district. Lebanon’s state news agency indicated that strikes persisted despite an extended ceasefire.

The situation highlights ongoing instability in the region as diplomatic efforts face setbacks and military activity continues.
