Mindy Cohn, best known for her role on The Facts of Life, has shared that she recently faced a second cancer battle—one she kept out of the public eye.
The 59-year-old actress disclosed the news in a post on Instagram, where she revealed she had been absent from social media while undergoing treatment. “Have been off social media for awhile ‘cuz i had to go kick cancer’s ass,” she wrote, alongside a photo taken from a hospital bed.
Cohn credited the medical team at Providence Saint John’s Health Center for their role in her care, describing their support as “extraordinary.” She also expressed appreciation for the nurses and oncology staff involved in her treatment.
In the same message, she shared an update on her condition, stating she is currently recovering and expects to spend “another couple of weeks” recuperating before moving forward. “Onwards! F–K Cancer!” she added.
According to Page Six, a representative for the actress did not immediately respond to requests for additional comment following her announcement.
This marks the second time Cohn has faced the disease. She was previously diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012. In a 2017 interview with People, she recalled the moment that led to her initial diagnosis, describing how she suddenly became extremely fatigued while walking in her Los Angeles neighborhood and had to contact a friend for assistance.
Cohn’s recent revelation highlights her continued resilience as she recovers and prepares for what she described as her “next adventure.”
