Patti Smith’s tribute to Dua Lipa: “She is bold, fun, and self-determined.”

The rocker spoke for Time Magazine, which has chosen the young singer as the symbol of the new list of the 100 most influential people in the world.

“Moving gracefully in a heavy world: she is bold, fun, and self-determined.” This is what Patti Smith sincerely thinks of the singer with Albanian origin Dua Lipa.

It’s in the latest issue of Time magazine, which chose the Radical Optimism pop star as the face of its list of the 100 most influential people in the world (You can see the cover picture below).

“She speaks out explicitly yet thoughtfully for those oppressed and uprooted from home. She founded an influential platform, Service95, to address cultural issues and humanitarian problems. She believes in family, is grateful to her parents, and supports her siblings.”

“She left home at 15 to pursue her dreams in music. She is driven, independent, and eager to learn. She urges future artists to pay attention to the world around them. She is herself, committed to redefining the pop world. She is Dua Lipa. Dua, Albanian stands for love.”

“She launched ‘Houdini’ with the image of a small key on the tip of her tongue. It’s easy to imagine her holding a bunch of keys like that, in command of her ever-evolving realm.”
